Cookin' kiddos

My friend Marci has a cute new blog called Cookin' sisters and we tried her breadstick recipe. We saved a little bit of dough and our little chefs had a blast rolling it out and cutting it with cookie cutters. The dough was totally gross when they were done and it went straight to the trash. There was quite a mess in my poor kitchen but they time that was occupied was worth it. And the breadsticks were delicious- way to go Marci on the great recipes! And also a quick thanks to my amazingly talented hubby for my wonderful new kitchen he did all by himself, except for the granite. The pink countertops are definitely not missed!

Bow Party!?

To all you moms with little girls (or aunts or friends of little girls): I have been thinking about having a "bow party" and I was just wondering if anyone would be interested. You could come see what I already have made, I can make them while you wait if I have the stuff, or I can take special orders for all those cute new school outfits. Let me know if this sounds good to you and I can make a time for everyone to come over and visit and take a look!

Pony Rides

Makenna loves horses! She was the first to jump in line for the pony rides. She wanted to rides the fast horses of course, this girl has no fear! It was so funny to watch her head bop up and down. I put her hair in a long braid and it was floppin up and down as well. Gunner chose the more mellow ponies to ride and it went "sloooooow" (as Gunner puts it). He had a huge grin the whole time! This little boy is just so much fun to be around. His hair has a nice little wave from sweating and it was starting to curl up.

Travel Town

Gunner has been really into "choo-choo rains" lately, so we decided to go to Travel Town. It was a little warm outside, but we had a good time. The kids had a good time climbing all over the trains. Choo-choo all aboard!

And Gage thoroughly enjoyed the trains too. He is such a good boy though, he didn't make a peep the whole time we were there. Gage is a great little guy!

Like Father, Like Son

Cory's parents are always saying that Gunner is so similar to how Cory was when he was younger in expressions and how he acts. Gunner is always into something and trying to figure out how he can take it apart, just like Cory did. Gunner took apart a drawer from his dresser top the point we could not fix it, Cory took apart the bath drain when he was little. The other day Cory was outside cleaning the garage and Gunner went out to play with the hose. Cory had put the motorcycles and the quad on the lawn while he was cleaning. After a little while Cory came in a little upset and said that his motorcycle was not working because Gunner had filled the exhaust with water from the hose. I had to laugh because Cory's mom had told me before how Cory filled the gas tank on their car with the hose more than once. Like father, like son. (He was able to get the bike working again after a while, so we can laugh about it).

The other day Cory poured a slab of concrete at his parents' house and I brought the kids over after he had finished. Gunner saw it and had to investigate. It was so funny to watch him check it out and slowly touch it and put his hands in it then he finally worked up to running right through it; it was like he couldn't help it, it was calling his name. We watched him from the house, I think he thought he was alone and free. There was quite a few hand and footprints after he was done. We just love this kid- he's our comedian, never a dull moment with Gunny around.

Happy 4th!

Since Gage is still so small we didn't go to Lake Mead for the 4th like last year. Instead, we went to Cory's brother's house for a BBQ, swimming and fireworks. The kids had a great time, just Gunner was afraid of the fireworks. It was a fun, relaxing day.

Makenna and Gunner love to swim. Makenna has become a fish. Gunner at least has a small element of fear this year( something he lacked last summer) and doesn't just walk off the side into the pool anymore regardless if anyone is going to be there to catch him. He just loves being with his dad.

Pictures of Gage

My Mom's neighbor, Esther, is an amazing photographer and we get the benefit of having her take great pictures of our kids. She came last week to take pictures of Gage as well as the others and they turned out so good. These are just a few of them. We took Gage to the doctor today and he is doing really well. He weighs 8 lbs. 5 oz. now and has grown an inch in 2 1/2 weeks. Makenna and Gunner are acting better. I feel bad because it is so hot outside so they have had to stay in a lot more than they're used to and I can't swim with them yet ( that's all they want to do). Gage is still such a good baby and I am so grateful for that!
