Gotta love little boys

My mom gave me these huge bottles of shampoo and conditioner and my bathroom is so tiny that I had to just set them on the ground. What a mistake! I should have known better. Gunner can't walk past any sort of squirt bottle without pushing it (usually repeatedly). I was on the computer straight across the short hallway for maybe a minute and he had squirted shampoo all over the floor. He would have had the entire bottle on the floor if given two more minutes. He loves pumping the handle and having it squirt everywhere. It was such a pain to clean up and it was in the grout. I love my little boys but when they can conspire we're going to be in trouble!

Student of the Month

Makenna got Student of the Month for February along with three other kids from her class. We did not tell her that she was getting an award only that it was a special day. She was so surprised when her dad showed up at school with us and when they called her name to come up on the stage to receive her award. She also won the Caught Being Good raffle that day as well so she got an In-N-0ut award as well. For the difficulties we have at home I am so relieved that she does so well in school. Great Job Kenna!

The Best Day of School

Last Thursday, Cory got home from work really early because of the rain, so he went to volunteer in Makenna's class in my place since that is my day to work. Makenna had no idea Daddy was going to show up at school that day. When he walked into class Cory told me that Kenna was so surprised and jumped up and ran to hug him. She introduced him to the whole class and got to work at the center that Daddy was helping at. When she got home she was so excited and told me she had no idea that Dad could come to school. I asked her what her favorite thing was that she did that day and she said "Dad". Later on that night she told me that it was the best day of school EVER. Such a little thing as her dad coming to school was such a big deal to her. I am so glad that Cory is always willing to do stuff with his kids. He is even giving them a bath right now. Can't get any better. I am so glad that, even if only for a short time , they think their dad is awesome. But I'm pretty sure they will always think that he is great, I sure do!

We Need Our Gunner

Last weekend we were at my parents' house and as we were leaving Gunner informed us he was staying at "Damma's" house and he would not have it any other way. So my mom said she was willing to try and let him stay by himself. He stayed for a few days and did great. Our house was so quiet it was so weird- we never have that much quiet. When Kenna was at school I just had Baby Gage and he was sleeping and even though I did have time to get stuff done with a little tornado following me doing something mischevious I missed my Gunny. We had no disaster at dinner, the bath water stayed in the tub, no one to "clamp" at bedtime and it was sad. Makenna asked many times it her brother could come home (she changed her mind when we got him).We love Gunner so much and despite his tendencies to investigate and destroy most of what comes in his path we wouldn't have him any other way!

I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone by. Seven years. Three kids. One dog. Two houses. One college degree. Starting two business. We have ups and downs, but so many happy, good times. Seven wonderful years!
