Our first week as a family of 5

Gage has been with us now for nine days and he has been such a good baby. He sleeps so well and barely cries, so far he just goes with the flow. I feel really good, my hands are sore from two botched attemps at placing an IV though, and the left one is still tingly ( I think she must have hit a nerve or something). Makenna and Gunner have been adjusting pretty well, only a few meltdowns, but we had those before the baby as well. We are lucky to have had help from Grandmas and sister-in-laws ( a benefit of living on the same street, Lauren has brought dinner multiple times). Gage is still so new to us yet I can't picture our family any other way. We just love him!

Here is Baby Gage

Here are some of Gage's first pictures. He is such a calm baby, which is good since the other two have been a little crazy. Makenna and Gunner sure love their brother. Gunner is still a little unsure of what to think of everything but he really tries to be gentle with the baby. What a good big brother.

Welcome Baby Gage

We are so excited that Gage Robert Evans joined our family on June 12, 2008!
He was born at 9:14 p.m. and weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz, and 20 inches long with a FULL head of hair.
Everyone is doing great; Makenna and Gunner love their new baby brother, even though Gunner has been calling him his puppy. Happy Birthday Gage! We're so glad you are here!

Happy Father's Day!

As we are coming upon Father's Day, I have been thinking about my own dad. We are so grateful for him. He is a great dad and a great Papa. We love you Dad! I also am so lucky to have a husband who is a superdad. I know that everything he does is for us, for his kids. He is never too tired after a LONG day at work to go outside and run with the kids, he rarely complains that they wake him up at 7 a.m. almost every Saturday and Sunday or any other day off to play with them, and he always makes them feel important. He is also such a great example to them and I am so glad they can look up to someone like him. What lucky kids to have such a patient, kind, and loving dad. Cory was a little unsure when we had a little girl, but he caught on so easily and does the best with Makenna. She and Gunner are definitely Daddy's buddies and I am sure our new one will be as well. Happy Father's Day to a terrific DAD!

Look Who's 2!

Last Friday, May 30th, Gunny turned two. We had a little family party for him Friday night. Of course it was a Lightning McQueen theme since he loves Cars. Gunner had fun with his cousins and ate ribs and cake. He got so many nice gifts. We finally are getting boy toys! He got some clothes and Bob the Builder and construction toys. We had a fun night. Happy Birthday to our little Sweetie!

Preschool Graduation May 29

On Thursday we went to Makenna's preschool graduation. It was an Under the Sea/ "Hooked" on Learning theme. Makenna loved preschool; her teachers were so great and she learned so much. She received a special Kindness award from Miss Cindy because she was always very thoughtful and caring toward the others in her class. We took her to Wana Iguana for lunch after, her choice. On Friday we went to Kindergarten orientation where she got to visit the school (even though she is there quite often) and get her packet to work on over the summer. Only two short months and then she's off to Pinetree.
