TOYS!!

Last week I was going to go do my double coupon shopping at Kmart( that is the only time I go there, so I am not totally familiar with the store) when my sister-in-law called me and told me she heard that they where have a great toy clearance, so I decided to check it out. I ended up getting some great bargains. All of the clearance toys were 50% off clearance price. I had a $5 off $50 and in line the lady in front of me gave me a $5 off $25 in toys, so it took $10 off the top. I was very happy with what I found. I totaled the regular prices and that was over $250 and I paid $55! Pretty good- and we got some good toys, Makenna picked a Sharpay doll with a microphone that sings and Gunner picked a helmet heroes that was $36 and we got it for $4.50. Those were to distract them while I shoved other toys in my cart to hide for birthdays and Christmas. Not a bad shopping trip!

We Love America

We had a fun 4th of July. Boulder City had a fireworks show that we could see from McDonalds parking lot, so we had some good old mickey d's and fireworks. There was a fireworks stand there as well so we bought some fireworks with our friends and had another little fireworks show. Gunner sat in the car crying the whole time because he was scared and managed to spill a big soda all over the seat and the floor in his fit. Oh well, the car is destroyed from the dirt from the rainstorm. Makenna and Gage loved the fireworks so they enjoyed them with us. And the best part of the night was that all three of them went back to the hotel and crashed- no fighting to go to sleep!

Our Crazy Lake Trip

We spent the past long weekend at Lake Mead, one of our favorite lakes to go to. This time, however, the beach was really rocky, and the water was choppy two of the days we were there and oh yeah, the monsoon storm that wiped out our camp and sent our boat sailing towards the middle of the lake with Cory and I on the shore watching (luckily he was able to get to it). And between Gunner cutting his hand and finding a a drunk guy in the middle of the lake, we were able to squeeze in some fun rides on the tube and some relaxing time boating around the lake. So even with the little glitches we had here and there, the kids had fun and that is all that matters.

The Nature Center

Makenna had the best kindergarten class. She made so many great friends and their parents are wonderful as well. One of the moms has gone out of her way to plan weekly "casual field trips" that are very inexpensive or free activities. Last week she emailed us about a free animal show at the Placerita Nature Center, and I figured it was worth a shot since I would be out anything if Gunner did not last. My sister-in-law was looking for something to do, so she came with her little boys. They had some neat animals. Makenna was really interested but the boys were happier running around in the dirt. Gunner was the photographer and he did a better than his usual job. He took everyone that he wasn't in. The weather was nice and the kids had something to do and had fun. They saw animal, got dirty, ran around, got lunch, and then crashed. Can't ask for a better ending!

We Love Daddy!

I sure think that these are three of the luckiest kids ever because they have Cory for their dad. He truly is wonderful. He makes up for all of the parenting faults that I have. Gunner thinks Cory can do anything, fix anything, make anything work. His answer is always "It otay, Daddy pix it". I am so glad that he'll do anything, from baths to bedtimes to doctor visits, cooking, helping me clean up. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful dad!

Our Little Guy is One!

Yesterday our sweet, little Gage turned one. I was going to post it yesterday, but time got away from me. We love having Gage in our family, he is the best. We have had a wonderful year with him.

Kindergarten Program

Last Friday was Makenna's kindergarten program. It was so cute. It was about America, so they sang patriotic songs and had speaking parts about our country. My mother-in-law did an amazing job with planning the program, the songs the videos, it was the best program ever. I don't think there were many dry eyes by the end. I don't know where the cold weather came from but I wasn't expecting it so Makenna was not wanting to take her jacket off so she was acting kinda goofy in the pictures. WE had such a great experience this year starting elementary school, and it went way to fast. It's all downhill from here. So sad!
